To the good people in Ukraine, please know that many in the world stand with you. You are in our hearts and minds daily. There is a group of Professional Mental Health Counselors in the United States that particularly understands the kind of strain you are bravely enduring now. We are the International Association for Resilience and Trauma Counseling, an Affiliate of the American Counseling Association. We hope we can share with you resources and human contact for healing in the near future. The days are long and the nights are darker now. We stand with you and hope for the sunrise that brings peace, security, grace, and encouragement for all of you. It will be a long road, and we hope that we can walk that road with you, when the time comes, in any way that we can. Ϲлава Україні!
"If we could read the secret history of our enemies, we should find in each man's
life sorrow and suffering enough to disarm all hostility."
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

IARTC History
The International Association for Resilience and Trauma Counseling was approved as an ACA Organizational Affiliate on July 6, 2021. Our application for ACA division status was unanimously approved on March 24, 2022. We are beyond excited and grateful for this long-sought for designation. We have so many to be grateful to, including YOU as our most stalwart supporters! We extend our sincerest thanks to every member of the Governing Council, to all of ACA, particularly ACA's amazing CEO Richard Yep, and ACA President-Extraordinaire Dr. S. Kent Butler. We thank Brandi McIntyre-- who guided us throughout this process with unbelievable patience, wisdom, and grace. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the IARTC Board of Directors, its Committee members and chairs, and each individual member as we could not have achieved this without each of you! We saw you as you lent your hard work and support to IARTC and we are more than appreciative!
On behalf of the IARTC Board,
Dr. Peggy Mayfield, IARTC President
